Fiona Paterson: Cambridge, Waikato, New Zealand; I was raised on a sheep and beef farm in Poolburn, Central Otago, attended boarding school at Columba College in Dunedin where I first started rowing. I tried many other sports but rowing was the one the stuck! I was first selected into the New Zealand Junior Rowing team in 2000 and am currently in the New Zealand Womens Double aiming for Gold at the World Championships, held at Lake Karapiro, NZ in October/November. I am a cervical cancer survivor and proud ambassador for the New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation.
